St. Margaret Mary Parish invites you to join us in celebrating our 75th foundation anniversary with a concert featuring world-renowned guitar player and parish alumnus Tony Melendez.  The concert is on Sunday, August 27, at the parish school ground. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.

Melendez was deeply involved in the Catholic church during high school and once considered dedicating his life to God through priesthood, his website states.  Born without arms, he found his calling instead in music ministry.  He became a guitarist and composer for Masses that eventually led him to directing and singing in music groups as demands for him increased.  He gained national attention when he performed the song “Never Be the Same” for Pope John Paul II during the papal visit in Los Angeles on September 15, 1987.

Watch Tony Melendez live in our own backyard and be inspired as we celebrate our diamond jubilee.  Tickets are on sale now for $20 per adult, $10 per age 17 to 4, and free for children 3 years old and below at the parish office or outside our church after each Saturday anticipated and Sunday Mass.
